Varki Paratha

Varki Paratha is a flaky and layered paratha which made with wheat flour and grease with rice flour and ghee to get separate layers.

  • 1 Cup Wheat Flour
  • 1 Cup Plain Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Rice Flour
  • 4 Tbsps. Ghee
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • Salt to Taste
  • Ghee for Cooking


  1. Combine rice flour and ghee in a bowl and make a smooth paste and keep aside. 

  2. Combine plain flour, wheat flour, milk, salt and enough water to make a soft dough. 

  3. Divide the dough into equal 6-8 Portions and roll each portion into a thin roti. 

  4. Place one roti and spread rice mixture evenly. 

  5. Place another roti on the top of first one, repeat the same process till to all rotis have been placed. 

  6. Roll it tightly from one end to another end like roll. Cut the roll into equal 5-6 portions. 

  7. Roll it again into paratha form using rolling pin. 

  8. Heat the tawa and cook the paratha till to golden and crisp from both sides using ghee. Do same process with remaining balls. 

  9. Serve hot parathas.
