Aate Ka Halwa

Aate ka halwa is a delicious and smooth texture Indian sweet recipe which is made with equal proportion of ghee, flour and sugar.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Desi Ghee/ Clarified Butter
  • 1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Tsp. Cardamom Powder
  • Few Strands of Saffron
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Nuts Cashew, Almonds and Raisins

Instructions
 

  • Heat the ghee in a heavy bottom pan. 
  • Add whole wheat flour and roast in ghee on medium flame till to brown. Keep stirring continuously. 
  • Add the chopped nuts and fry until the color changed to dark brown. 
  • Boil the 2 cups of water in separate saucepan. 
  • Once the flour is brown, add boiled water in flour pan and cook till to water is absorbed by the flour. 
  • Keep stirring to avoid lumps. 
  • Add cardamom powder and sugar and mix well. 
  • Cook again for 3-4 minutes more till to sugar dissolve completely and halwa release ghee. 
  • Garnish the halwa with dry nuts and saffron. Serve warm with poori.
