Meetha Khichdi or khechudi is very popular dish in Orissa which made with rice, yellow lentils, whole spices and sugar.

- 1 Cup Rice small grains
- 1/2 Cup Yellow Split Gram Moong Dal
- 1/4 Cup Grated Coconut
- 1 Small BayLeaf
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Green Cardamoms
- 3-4 Black Peppercorns
- 3 Tbsps. Sugar
- 2 Tbsps. Ghee
- Salt to Taste
- Pinch Turmeric Powder
Roast the moong dal in a dry pan till to golden brown and keep aside in separate plate.
Wash and clean the rice in water and keep aside.
Heat the ghee in pressure cooker.
Add bayleaf, cloves, cardamom, peppercorns and saute till to aroma gets.
Add moong dal and rice and saute in ghee for 1 minutes.
Add salt, sugar, turmeric powder and 3 cups of water and mix well.
Add grated coconut and mix well.
Cover with lid and cook till to soft or 2-3 whistles.
Garnish with nuts and grated coconut and serve hot.
