Sattu Ka Paratha Recipe

Sattu Ka paratha is a quite popular recipe which is made by stuffing of roasted sattu or roasted chickpea flour from Bihar Cuisine.

Ingredients
  

For Filling

  • 1 Cup Sattu/ Roasted Chickpea Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Mustard Oil
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tbsp. Mango Pickle, Crushed
  • 1/4 Cup Onion, Chopped
  • 2 Tbsps. Coriander Leaves, Chopped
  • 1 Tsp. Green Chili, Finely Chopped

For Dough

  • 2 Cups Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • Oil For Cooking

Instructions
 

For Filling

  • Dry roast the sattu or chickpea flour in non-stick pan. Remove the roasted flour in separte bowl. 
  • Add chopped onion, chilies, coriander leaves, salt, mango pickle, mustard oil and mix it gently. 
  • Add water if need to make dough consistency mixture. Keep aside to further use. 

For Dough

  • Combine wheat flour, salt and water to prepare regular type of dough for parathas. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes to set.

How to Cook

  • Now divide the dough and stuffing into equal portions. 
  • Roll each portion of dough and place the stuffing in center and close the edges tightly. 
  • Roll again using rolling pin and dust with flour if needed. 
  • Heat the tawa on medium flame. 
  • Place the rolled chapati and cook the paratha from the both sides till to golden brown and crisp using oil or ghee. 
  • Serve the hot parathas with curd and chutney.
