Orange Kheer (Komola Kheer)

Orange Kheer, also known as Komola Kheer is a traditional recipe of Bengali region. For this recipe, we have to boil milk till to thick consistency and when it’s comes on room temperature add orange segments and serve chilled as desserts.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Oranges Peeled
  • 1 Litre Full Cream Milk
  • 150 Gms Sugar As required
  • 1/2 Tsp Kesar/ Saffron
  • 2 Tbsp Mixed Nuts almonds, cashews, Pistachio, chopped
  • 1 Tsp. Cardamom Powder

Instructions
 

  • Take milk in a pan and heat until it is condensed to 1/2 in quantity.
  • Put sugar in reduced milk and mix well.
  • Add cardamom powder, mixed nuts and saffron and mix well.
  • Peel off the skin of oranges. Remove the inner transparent skin also.
  • Remove the milk from the fire. Cool it until room temperature.
  • Now mix orange chunks and mix well.
  • Cool the kheer for at least 2 hours. Serve chilled.
