Trevti Dal/ Tadka Dal

Today I posted “Trevti Dal” under the On-going BM# 20, Delicious
Dal Theme. Under this recipe, combine three lentils together and add some fried
golden onion for little tadka taste.

For wonderful presentation, I add red chilli tempering in this dal,
normally we know this dal by the name of Mix Dal or Tadka Dal or तीनमेल दाल…… But after
surfing on net, I get this name which really hit me…
You can serve this dal with any stuff Indian bread or steam rice….
Trevti Dal Which is very good for healthy and easy option for lunch or dinner
time.

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes

Cup


Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. Bengal gram/ Chana Dal
2 Tbsp. Split Yellow Gram/ Dhuli Moong Dal
2 Tbsp. Yellow Split pigeon Peas/ Tuvar Dal
1 Small Sized Onion, Chopped/ Pyazz
1 Green chilli, Chopped/ Hari Mirch
1/4 Tsp. Turmeric powder/ Haldi
Salt to taste/ Namak
1/4 Tsp. Cumin Seeds/ Jeera
2 Tbsp. Clarifying Butter/ Desi Ghee
1/2 Tsp. Grated Ginger/ Adrak
1/2 Tsp. MDH Degi Red Chilli Powder
2 Dried Whole Red Chilli
Directions:
Wash and soak the all three lentils into water for
10-15 minutes. Now drain the water and cook the lentils, green chilli, ginger,
salt, turmeric powder and 1/2 tbsp. clarifying butter together in pressure
cooker till to 3-4 whistles.
Now heat the 1 tbsp. clarifying butter in the pan
and add little jeera, sauté chopped onion till to golden brown, now add this
fried onion into cooked dal.
For Tempering:
Heat the 1 tsp. ghee on medium flame, and remove
from the flame, add red chilli powder and whole red chilli into very hot ghee.
Now add the tempering on the top of cooked dal as a garnishing and wonderful
color.
