Basil Lemonade | Tulsi Shikanji

Basil is known as Tulsi in Hindi and it’s
good for better immunity system. Today I shared Basil Lemonade or Tulsi
Lemonade or you can say Tulsi Shikanji in local language of North India. For this
recipe, first you have to prepare basil flavored syrup and then served with chilled
lemonade. 
It’s quite refreshing drink in summer season and easily accompanied
with all starter recipes. You can store this syrup in freeze more than one week
for further use.

Ingredients
Fresh Basil Leaves, plus for garnishing
1/2 Cup Sugar
Lemon Juice
Club Soda
Few Ice Cubes
Instructions
Cook the Sugar and 3/4 Cup water over
medium heat in saucepan till to sugar dissolve and slightly thicken syrup.
Remove from the heat and add fresh and
clean basil leaves in syrup. Keep aside and cool down at room temperature.
Strain the syrup and store in glass jar for further use.
Pour 2 to 3 Tbsps of basil syrup in each
glass. Add lemon juice and ice cubes and little salt, (salt is optional) and
stir it. Then fill with club soda and garnish with few fresh basil leaves.
Serve chilled.
Notes: You can store this syrup in freeze for
more than one week.
