Bael Ka Sharbat (Wood Apple Juice)

Bael Sharbat is summer drink which made with bael flesh with salt, pepper and sugar.

 

 

Bael Juice is hard, woody and smooth with sweet flesh inside that can be consumed flesh or dried. They are also mixed with beverages and desserts with sugar or jaggery. Bael fruit is known as wood apple contains protein, vitamins, thiamine and riboflavin.

Bael or wood apple is a summer favorite fruit. Bael Sharbet or juice is the perfect drink to cool yourself on a sunny day. It is a combination of bael flesh with salt, pepper and mint leaves. Bael is a powerful fruit packed with many nutrients like beta-carotene, protein, riboflavin and vitamin C. Bael is a tree which is native to Indian soil and hence, suits the Indian body as well. Since the fruit is naturally sweet, it does not require an additional spoonful of sugar to match your taste buds. Bael juice solves the constipation issues, helps in weight loss and increase metabolism.

What We Need to Make Bael Sharbat:

2 Medium sized Bael/ Wood apple

2 Tbsps. Powdered Sugar

Black Salt to Taste

Roasted Cumin Powder to Taste

Black Pepper Powder to Taste

1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice, Optional

2-3 Glasses of Water

Few Mint Leaves, Chopped for garnishing

 

How to Make Bael Sharbat:

Break the fruit and Scoop out the flesh in large bowl, using a spoon. Pour glass of water and Squeeze the pulp to separate the seeds and juice, using palms. Press the juice through siever to strain the fibers and seeds from the thick pulp. Transfer the pulp remaining in the sieve into a bowl and add more water. Repeat the squishing and strain process. Add sugar to the strained juice and add salt, pepper powder, cumin powder and mix well. Serve chilled with mint leaves and ice-cubes.

Notes

You can add Lemon juice also which gives very refreshing taste to this Indian Bael sharbat

  1. Love your display of bael juice Preeti. Though we do get wood apple in our place, I have never tried it this way nor is it so liked at home. However, your drink surely makes me want to try it soon. Those different shaped glasses make an interesting composition!
