Red Cabbage Potato Tikki Recipe

Tikki is very common and popular road side snack which easy available in North India. We generally tried potato tikkis but red cabbage potato tikki is really looks wonderful and tasty. You can serve this tikkis with green chutney or meethi chutney like aloo tikkis. Addition of red cabbage in this tikki recipe makes more vibrant and colorful.

 

To make this colorful tikkis, just combine and mix chopped red cabbage, mashed potatoes, coriander leaves, green chilies, onion and Indian spices.

This tikki is a comforting snack recipe which you can eat with any Indian dip or chutney or like aloo tikki with onion, chickpeas and curd. A crispy and shallow fried tikki is a delicious snack that you can have along a hot cup of tea or coffee as evening snack.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

1 Cup Red Cabbage, Finely chopped

3 Large Potatoes, Boiled and Mashed

2 Green Chilies, Finely Chopped

1/4 Cup Onion, Finely Chopped

1/4 Cup Green Coriander, Finely Chopped

Salt to Taste

1 Tsp. Coriander Powder

Red Chili Powder to Taste

1 Tsp. Raw Mango Powder

Oil for Shallow Frying

Bread Crumbs for Binding (Optional)

 

How to Make Red Cabbage Potato Tikki:

Combine all ingredients in large bowl, except oil and mix well. Add bread crumbs and knead it like a soft dough. Divide the mixture into 6-8 equal Sized Tikkis. Roll it into round shapes.  Heat the oil in a pan. When oil is hot, place the tikkis and fry them till to golden and crisp. Serve them with ketchup or green chutney.

  1. The addition of red cabbage gives these tikkis a wonderful colour. And also the flavour would be different from the normal tikkis. Perfect evening snack to have with a cup of coffee.
