Tiranga Puri’s

Republic Day is a national holiday that is celebrated every year with big enthusiasm. The Constitution of India was enforced on 26th January, 1950 marking a historical moment in the Indian history. Hence, this day is honoured with great joy, pride across the country as India was also declared a sovereign, democratic and republic state on this very day.

On the very special occasion i was prepared some main course and dessert on the theme of Indian flag (Tiranga form). Under this, i was prepared tiranga puri’s, tiranga rice and dessert.

Ingredients

  • 6 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. ghee
  • Water for soft dough
  • 1 pinch of orange food color 
  • 1 tbsp. spinach purees (blanch and grind in mixer)
Method
For red
color dough
  • Add 2 cup flour, ¼ tsp. salt, 1
    tsp. ghee, and orange color water.
  • Make dough for puri’s
For
plain dough
  • Add 2 cup flour, ¼ tsp. salt, 1
    tsp. ghee, and enough water for dough.
For
green color dough
  • Add 2 cup flour, ¼ tsp. salt, 1
    tsp. ghee, and spinach puree and make dough for puri’s.
  • Now keep aside this three color
    dough for 15 min.
  • Heat the oil in deep and thick
    bottom pan.
  • Roll out the one portion of the
    dough, by using rolling pin and deep fry in oil.
  • Same do as with red, plain,
    green dough.
  • Serve this colourful puri’s
    with aloo bhaji and green chutney
