H- Hare Chane Ke Paratha | Choliya Paratha | Green Chickpeas Parathas

During winters, you can easily found fresh green chickpeas in market. The taste of any recipe will increase when we used fresh and seasonal vegetables. Most of time I prepared green peas stuffed paratha for breakfast but this time I tried green chickpeas parathas with same technique.

For this paratha, you have to cook grounded chickpeas with green chilies and spices in oil and your stuffing is ready to make parathas.

Green Chickpeas is a seasonal delight during winters. It is also called hara chana, choliya, and hora. Hara chana paratha is quite different in texture and taste from aloo or gobhi parathas but more flavorful, healthy and tasty. You can serve this paratha with curd and mango or chili pickle.

Ingredients

For Dough

1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

1 Tsp. Oil

1/2 Tsp. Salt

For Stuffing

1 Cup Fresh Green Chickpeas

1 Tbsp Oil

1/2 Tsp. Carom Seeds

2 Green Chilies, Finely Chopped

Salt to Taste

Red Chili Powder to Taste

1 Tsp. Coriander Powder

1/2 Tsp. Garam Masala

Extra Oil For Cooking

Extra Flour for Dusting

Water for Kneading

How to make green chickpeas paratha:

Combine flour, salt, and oil in a deep bowl and knead soft dough using enough water and keep aside. Grind the green chickpeas coarsely in the mixer. Heat the 1 tsp. oil in non-stick pan and add carom seeds. When they start crackle, add green chilies grounded chickpeas, garam masala, coriander powder and salt and sauté few seconds and keep aside. Take a small portion of dough. Roll a portion into circle and place small portion of chickpeas stuffing in center. Bring all the edges in center and seal tightly. Roll again by using a little flour for rolling. Heat a tawa on medium flame and cook the paratha till to golden brown from both sides using oil. Serve hot paratha with curd and pickle.

  1. Thats a brilliant idea of stuffing hare chane in paratha, well done Preeti.. Now am tempted to give a try to this hare chane ke paratha, as i have some frozen green chickpeas in my freezer.. Lovely dish there.

    I remember seeing these fresh green chickpeas in the market during our BM75 visit to Delhi. These parathas look so lip smackingly good! Awesome pick!!!
