Bread Pakoras | Easy Bread Pakora Recipe

Bread pakora is an Indian fried snack. It is also known as bread bhaji. A common street food, it is made from bread slices, gram flour, and spices among other ingredients. The snack is prepared by dipping triangular bread slices in spicy gram flour batter and frying them. Stuffing such as mashed potatoes is common.

 

 

Bread Pakora is quite easy and tasty snack in Indian which you can eat as a tea time snacks or in breakfast. It is very popular street food or roadside food which sells in huge quantity. To make bread pakoras, dip the bread slice into a gram flour batter and deep fried into oil till to crisp and golden.

Addition of green chilies, coriander and stuffing of potatoes or paneer makes this bread pakora more irresistible snack.

This time I shared very simple and easy to make bread pakora recipe, for which no need to prepare stuffing. Just cut the bread slices into equal pieces and dip into besan batter and fry them.

Ingredients

4 Bread Slices

1 Cup Bengal Gram or Besan

1 Tsp. Carom Seeds

Salt to Taste

Red Chili Powder to Taste

Oil For Frying

 

How to Make Bread Pakora:

Cut the each bread slices into equal four pieces and keep aside. Heat the oil in wok on high flame. Combine gram flour, salt, red chili powder, carom seeds and water to make smooth batter for pakoras. When oil is hot enough, dip each piece into besan batter and deep fry them on medium flame till to golden and crisp. You can fry 4-5 pieces at a time. Serve besan pakoras with green chutney or tomato ketchup and tea.

  1. Good one, Preeti. I have very fond memories of bread pakora when we had gone to an outdoor camping and it was raining. Thanks for reminding me of that wonderful times.
