Aate ka Halwa is very popular halwa in Indian kitchen. This halwa is made from whole wheat flour and ghee and very common Indian sweet dish in North India. This recipe is simple and easy to make, you can be made for any occasion or festival season.
Aate ka halwa is a delicious and smooth texture Indian sweet recipe which is made with equal proportion of ghee, flour and sugar. You can add or avoid the dry fruits in this halwa. But addition of dry nuts makes this recipe more delicious.
What is Halwa?
Halwa or Halva is an Indian pudding with made with clarified butter or ghee and sugar. You can prepare nut based halwa or flour based halwa.
Flour based halwa is made by frying or roasting in ghee and then cooking it with sugar syrup. Nut based halwa is made by grinding seeds to a paste and then mixing with syrup cooked to hard crack stage.

Ingredients for Aate ka Halwa recipe:
1 Cup Desi Ghee/ Clarified Butter
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Water
1 Tsp. Cardamom Powder
Few Strands of Saffron
1/4 Cup Chopped Nuts (Cashew, Almonds and Raisins)
How to make Aate ka Halwa Recipe:
Heat the ghee in a heavy bottom pan. Add whole wheat flour and roast in ghee on medium flame till to brown. Keep stirring continuously. Add the chopped nuts and fry until the color changed to dark brown. Boil the 2 cups of water in separate saucepan. Once the flour is brown, add boiled water in flour pan and cook till to water is absorbed by the flour. Keep stirring to avoid lumps. Add cardamom powder and sugar and mix well. Cook again for 3-4 minutes more till to sugar dissolve completely and halwa release ghee. Garnish the halwa with dry nuts and saffron. Serve warm with poori.
